The one-paragraph version: Bin There, Tote That! rents cleaned, sanitized plastic moving totes across the Portland and Vancouver metro areas with free delivery, free pickup, a hand truck included, and a two-week window, in four flat packages from $97 to $257 as of July 2026. Everything below is detail on top of that.
The Whole List
What's included in a moving tote rental?
Every package includes cleaned and sanitized totes with attached lids, a standard hand truck, free delivery, free pickup, and a two-week rental window. The Basic Move is 10 totes for $97; the Complete Move is 75 totes for $257. Extra totes, added time, and an upgraded dolly are available at checkout.
How does the two-week rental work?
The window starts when your totes arrive and covers packing, moving day, and unpacking. You choose where moving day lands inside it. When the last tote is empty, call or text and we'll schedule the free pickup; you don't have to use the whole two weeks.
What if two weeks isn't enough?
Extensions are available. If a closing date slips or unpacking drags on, call or text (971) 402-0969 before your window ends and we'll add time to your rental. Added time is one of our three add-ons, priced at checkout, and nobody shows up demanding totes back mid-move.
What about odd-sized items like lamps and TVs?
Totes handle the vast majority of household goods: dishes, books, clothes, tools, toys, pantry, and files. For odd-shaped items like lamps, TVs, and hanging clothes, most people keep a couple of specialty boxes or moving blankets on hand and use totes for everything else.
Where do you deliver, and what does it cost?
Delivery and pickup are free throughout the Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA metro areas, including surrounding communities like Beaverton, Lake Oswego, Camas, and Battle Ground. Moving from one side of the river to the other changes nothing. Just outside the metro? Call and we'll usually make it work.
How clean are the totes when they arrive?
Every tote is washed and sanitized between rentals and arrives with the lid latched. That matters more than it sounds: used cardboard from stores and curbs can carry moisture, grime, and occasionally bed bugs. Your totes show up ready for dishes and linens straight out of the cabinet.
How big are the totes, and how much do they hold?
They're the industry-standard attached-lid moving crates you've seen professional movers use: comparable in capacity to a large cardboard box, sized so a packed tote is still liftable. Because they're crush-proof, heavy loads like books are fine, and the packed stack rolls on the included dolly instead of being carried.
How does the hand truck work, and can I upgrade it?
A standard hand truck comes free with every package: tip the stack, roll it to the truck, done. The optional upgrade is a convertible aluminum model that flips into a four-wheel platform cart, useful for long carries, big buildings, and office moves. It's one of the three add-ons at checkout.
How do I book, and how do I pay?
Book by the quote form on any page, or by calling or texting (971) 402-0969; it takes about two minutes. We confirm your package, delivery window, and payment details when we confirm the booking, and we reply to form submissions within one business day, usually sooner.
Can I reschedule my delivery?
Yes. Moving dates slide, and the schedule is built to flex with them. Call or text as soon as your plans change and we'll move your delivery window to match; the same goes for pickup once you're unpacked.
What happens at pickup?
When you're done, call or text and stack the empties somewhere accessible. We collect all the totes and the hand truck from your new address, free, including cross-river moves. There's nothing to break down, return to a store, or recycle.
Are totes really better than cardboard boxes?
For most Portland moves, yes: crush-proof, rain-proof, sanitized, no assembly, dolly included, and no disposal pile afterward. Once you price boxes, tape, and a dolly, cardboard usually isn't cheaper either. Our cardboard vs. totes comparison keeps the whole argument honest, concessions included.
Do you serve my area?
If you're anywhere in the Portland or Vancouver metro, almost certainly. Our service areas page lists all 31 communities and neighborhoods, from the Pearl District to Battle Ground. If you're just outside the list, call or text before ruling us out; edge-of-metro moves often work.
Do you handle commercial or office moves?
Yes. Uniform, lidded, stackable totes keep files and equipment organized between floors or buildings, and bulk deliveries are easy to arrange. Call or text (971) 402-0969 to talk through headcount, volume, and dates, or start with our office relocation guide.
Do you move the totes for me?
No; we're the box side of the move, not the muscle. You or your movers handle the transport, and the totes make that part easier: uniform stacks, snap lids, and the included hand truck. Plenty of customers hand our totes straight to their moving crew.
Do I need to clean the totes before pickup?
No. Empty is all we ask; washing and sanitizing is our job and happens before the totes go anywhere near the next customer. Skip the wipe-down and spend the time unpacking.
When should I book?
As soon as you know your move date. Earlier bookings get first pick of delivery windows, which matters most at the busy end of the month. Booked late? Call or text anyway; we fit in last-minute moves whenever the schedule allows.
What if I run out of totes mid-pack?
Call or text and we'll bring extras; additional totes are one of our three add-ons. It happens constantly, usually at the kitchen or the closet, so don't agonize over the initial count. Start close and adjust once you're elbow-deep.
Still Wondering Something?
Ask a person instead of a page. Call or Text (971) 402-0969 and you'll get a real answer, usually on the spot; texting a photo of a tricky staircase or a tight alley is completely normal here.
Or start with the essentials: how the rental works and what the packages cost, and if your question is about a specific city or neighborhood, the service areas page has a page for each one.
